Exhibitions

Plan, manage, and publish exhibitions on Provenance — from solo shows to multi-artist group exhibitions.

Create an exhibition

  1. Go to Exhibitions (/exhibitions) from the Toolbox.
  2. Click New exhibition.
  3. Fill in title, dates, venue, description, and cover image.
  4. Save as a draft.

Inviting artists

For group shows, invite artists to submit work:

  1. Open the exhibition editor.
  2. Generate artist invites with unique tokens.
  3. Share the invite link — artists land on /exhibitions/submit?token=….
  4. Review submissions and accept or decline artworks.

Publishing

When ready, publish the exhibition. Published exhibitions:

  • Appear on your creator website at /{handle}/exhibitions/[id]
  • Can be featured in open calls and portal activity
  • Include a public page with artwork list and details

Editing & unpublishing

Edit exhibition details anytime at /exhibitions/[id]/edit. Unpublishing removes the public page but preserves all data and submissions.

Exhibition on your site

Published exhibitions automatically sync to your creator website. The site template renders exhibition pages with artwork grids, dates, and venue information.

Subscription

Exhibition management is available to all authenticated users. Advanced operations (loans tied to exhibitions, insurance valuations) are in the Operations module.
