Getting started

Welcome to Provenance — a platform for preserving cultural heritage through artwork authentication, provenance records, and professional tools for artists, collectors, and galleries.

Create an account

  1. Visit provenance.guru and click Sign up.
  2. Register with email/password or continue with Google.
  3. Complete onboarding to choose your role: Artist, Collector, or Gallery.

New accounts receive a 14-day trial with access to subscription features.

Choose your role

RoleBest for
ArtistDocumenting your work, issuing certificates, applying to grants and open calls
CollectorCataloging a collection, tracking provenance, requesting research
GalleryManaging artists, exhibitions, CRM, and gallery operations

You can switch context using the profile switcher in the navigation bar when you have multiple profiles.

After signing in, you'll see:

  • Artworks — Browse verified public artworks or add to your collection
  • Artists — The artist and gallery registry
  • Collection — Your personal artwork records (/artworks/my)
  • Portal — Dashboard with favorites, activity, and quick links
  • Toolbox — Website editor, exhibitions, grants, CRM, mailing list, and operations

Your first steps

As an artist

  1. Create a public profile.
  2. Add your first artwork.
  3. Fill in provenance details and issue a certificate.
  4. Publish your creator website.

As a collector

  1. Add artworks to your collection.
  2. Request provenance research from the certificate page.
  3. Browse the public registry to discover artists.
  1. Set up your gallery profile and invite team members.
  2. Create an exhibition and invite artists.
  3. Use the CRM to track collectors and leads.
